“I’m angry because so many people are like, ‘If I catch COVID, I catch COVID. That’s what it is.' No, it’s not,” Dunham said. “It could be any person. It could be anybody. They did everything right. They did everything to protocol the way it should be done.”
I am trying to figure out what they are trying to say here.
the vaccine doesn't work for everybody?
we need the booster?
it's because of the unvaxxed that did not do everything to protocol?
More than likely they put them on the ventilator then decided it was time to pull the plug. There is just no way in the world they died a minute apart from an acute disease naturally.
Can I call bullshit?
Yep

It is F. They are trying to keep people off their feet.
If Durham said that what does it mean? Im still trying to parse it
Just replace the phrase "a breakthrough case of COVID-19" with "the vaccine".

That's what I think happened, if it happened at all. The question is why is this a story? it seems outside of the narrative.
Sounds like the plot of The Notebook.
You'll believe anything, wont you?
No mention of the hospital...
