Genuine questions:

How do humans acquire parasites? I get how livestock may shit relatively close to where they eat, but most people wash and/or cook their food.
How have humans removed parasites in prior generations?
When did the regular removal of parasites in humans stop?

It depends greatly on where you live - Brazil has a lot of stray cats, so a lot of toxoplasmosis = hyper-sexualised and violent behaviour, the southern people of the US are known to this day for being slow - they were getting overrun by hookworm that got in between their toes and altered their abilities significantly. Raw fish consumption can over time leave you with worms crawling around your entire body.
