LOL It's a bad network engineer who input an incorrect statement. This in turn took down authentication for all of facebook's buildings and remote connecting. So the guy that was remotely configuring the router was locked out because authentication was brought down. This is what took down employee's ability to be able to enter the building. It wasn't until someone could physically get into the building could they make the necessary changes for Facebook to be accessible again.
Well its what happened. You should be focused on the bullshit facebook "whistleblower" who is in the middle of making excuses for why we need more censorship on facebook and the internet as a whole.
Even assuming all this was done, the person conducting the change would be using the out of band connectivity to perform it. This is done so that if you make a mistake or there is an undocumented bug in the IOS code (it happens) then they are not kicked off the device and can still remediate the problem.
The very fact that engineers could not get into the building to fix the problem once it started means that there was no-one actually making the change
They used a facebook domain to authenticate their badges. Their routing took down the facebook domain. They had to get someone physically into the office to get it back up. Like I said last time, you should be focused on the "whistleblower" who is begging congress to make more censorship rules for facebook.
