“They can’t fire all of them; they were already trying to “re-hire” and train new pilots to handle the shortage in the summer.”
Hey, there is a “blue-flu” sick out happening...you were correct, however the pilots aren’t walking off the job, and that was my point. However, I didn’t believe the pilots were even “sicking out,” so I was wrong with that opinion.
What you are missing is that....unless pilots are near retirement, they are not going to throw away their career. There are always summer shortages for pilots.
They are suing to get rid of the vaccine mandate. And they are refusing to comply.
We just had thousands of doctors and nurses across the country walk out of their jobs due to the vaccine mandates—you really think pilots, who have one of the most thankless jobs in the world, wouldn’t do the same?
They’ve had to put up with so much BS the past 18 months; everyone reaches their breaking point eventually.
Not to mention that there is no federal law requiring these mandates, they’re telling the airline to F off with the requirement as there’s no legal nor medical basis for it.
Now you are conflating a mass walkout (and getting fired) with a lawsuit.
Their union doing a lawsuit is fine, insubordination and getting fired is much different. ATC is more protected than pilots, and your first post implied the pilots were the cause of the delays.
You don’t know how airlines and their seniority system works....nurses and doctors can change hospitals...pilots lose much if they switch airlines.
When this is over, there will be many, may people that held ‘respected’ jobs looking for working. They will have to reassess their lives - high pressure or live a life getting back to basics. The world will soon be plunged into a ‘scare event’. You will either learn to cope now and jump ship from a cosy position or get thrown into a situation where any job pressures one has had over a lifetime of a career, will be minuscule compared to this ‘scare event’. This comes down to ‘trying to preserve your career’ or looking after your family when they will need you most.
lol now it is “shill?”. Shill for who, what? I disagree with your assertion regarding the pilots, and YES ATC walking out at a ATC Center facility would do that.
I am sorry the discussion has made you emotional.
Replacements? Hun, this is how it works. SWA123 flys to Tampa, gets cancelled because of ATC, the pilots time out....they have to get reserves there...no reserves in TPA...more flights cancelled. Reserves are finally flown to TPA to do an evening flight...oh ATC is still out....sure some pilots may have the “blue flu” and call in sick, but your original premise was the pilots were walking out...which is all I disagreed with.
Weather ? You mean,maybe....
A storm ?
Kek!
🎵
I am the storm that is approaching
Provoking...
Black clouds in isolation!

Thought it was the air traffic controllers, not the pilots? The controllers are in a union.
ATC, SW, and AA unions are all protesting at this time. But SW apparently refused to listen to concerns from pilots, so they walked off the job.
They blame ATC so that they don’t have to pay for hotel rooms for people because it “wasn’t the airline’s issue.”
The difference is, ATC has a federal union...they really can’t be fired....the pilots can be fired.
They can’t fire all of them; they were already trying to “re-hire” and train new pilots to handle the shortage in the summer.

The lawsuit and the sickout this weekend ARE the pilots. It’s a multifront movement.
The Florida cancellations appear to be an unrelated ATC walkout.
You’re just pivoting and strawmanning for some reason.
Also, nurses and doctors can’t switch hospitals because they’re all mandating vaccination, as are the airlines.

NOTHING WILL STOP WHAT IS COMING. NOTHING. Q
Lol You know nothing about ALPA or SWAPA. You are very emotional.
Could be both
Thank you, Jesus. I don't believe there are enough pilots in the NG to backfill these positions. Filipinas, either.

Imagine thinking DoorDash memberships will convince your staff not to quit.
It may be true.... But where in that article do you see that? It literally says the exact opposite.
This is the one honest time (((they))) can blame something on the unvaxxinated and they choose to blame it on the weather? Hahahahahahahaha
Glowing? Because I was educating you about the industry? I disagree with you and your ego is so frail you freak out.
No sauce.
Dallas Tribune better than CNBC?
