The sun spits out CMEs all the time, and sometimes towards the Earth. So nothing new there. The MSM highlighting a potentially minor event (like this one) is what we need to watch for, and point out what to expect, if anything. If NASA says a minor event is coming, and the grid goes down, yeah, that wasn't because the Sun farted at the Earth.
There was a fairly big event back in 1989 that knocked out some transmission lines from Canada to NY. My understanding is that the grid has been modified to prevent that sort of thing from happening again.
A big event, like the one that affected telegraph lines in the 1800s is unusual, but it won't go unnoticed either. Not when the whole US sees the northern lights at night.
If you read further down it says in the UK the event will take place from 10 a.m. Monday through to Tuesday. Well local time in the UK at present is 6:27 p.m. and all good, so far. It is only a G2 so a moderately strong flare.

It was supposed to hit the UK hours ago. Time has come and gone. It was just a distraction. Eyes on the Maxwell case.

Solar winds hack incoming?
Let's get on with it then! Maybe it'll take out the frigging Vax passport logs 😅
If your electronic devices still function, there's no solar storm
Just a reminder that it’s 4 hours later and I have no issues at all. I’m in the 45th parallel so there’s that.
Apparently I had an internet outage then, but it lasted no more than 20 minutes.
No Sun storm - no surprise.
No "Grislane" - no surprise too? Delayed again?
It's 7:02 p.m., EST. So much for that "solar storm," huh?
