I wouldn't worry about it. Kids have their own way of deciding what they will watch... or not.
Things like this go into the trash pretty quickly. You may have seen that on the latest "Captain America" movie... or the newest 007 movie where "Bond" is a woman.

Things like that just get tossed to the side and kids ignore it.
If the movie studios want to ruin a franchise... then so be it. Once you lose your audience, they rarely EVER come back.
