I placed a small sticker of a kissy faced Trump over a Bernie 2016 bumper sticker at our complex. It's a typical lefties VW Bug with all the stickers to tell you how unhinged the person is.
Roughly nights later heard some screaming and something about racists, paid it no mind. The next time I saw the bug, the whole Bernie sticker looked to have been VIOLENTLY ripped off with a metal spatula. Scratch marks deep into the chasis.
Funny part is my sticker is a basic paper one and would have been rubbed off with simple Goo gone.
Artists swing heavily towards leftism or at the very least liberalism.
I'm not an artist by trade, but I am an artist by hobby and it's generally insufferable talking to any of them about anything except whatever art projects we're working on. If the conversation starts to veer towards politics or government, then I peace the fuck out immediately because I can guarantee that the group of artists I know personally are part of the 4-6% that can't be saved.
most artists offer very little utility to society but many have egos that prevent let them from understanding why, so they advocate for the forceful redistribution of wealth from productive people to themselves
Ehhhh, I would say that you're partially correct here. I think that artists offer a lot of utility to society, but I also think that there's a certain group of artists that bring nothing of value to the table but feel that society owes them for it.
Art is about feeling. It's about making someone evoke an emotion. A wonderfully composed sad song can bring you to tears about a lost loved one. A political cartoonist can highlight something absurd in a humorous way to get people to think about it.
The problem is that too many artists get wrapped up in feelings and don't stop to think logically. If you live only in the realm of feelings all day, then you're like "Yeah, why can't all those "refugees" come into the country! I feel bad for them!" without ever stopping to think that logically we shouldn't just let anyone and everyone to pour across our borders if they don't share our national values.

My tattoo artist was doing free Bernie silhouettes during 2016 election primaries. Proud antifa type, but a hell of an artist.
