Very nice catch. Comms getting sent all over the place.
Could I ask you ..I’m learning ..why do they do commas? Someone said it’s how they talk ..so they can’t call all there demon friends so they talk on Twitter or whatever in code ? Thank you
Comms have been around for centuries. Nobility long had secret languages (look up language of the fans). The reason is because some things can't be openly talked about.
For example, if you and another group are talking about over throwing the king you can't send that in a letter. If it's intercepted you and your conspirators will be put to death. So you might find other ways to talk about it. Say the King comes from a region famous for red apples. You might talk about making "apple sauce" of this really, juicy red apple you have. You're talking about killing the king, but no one can prove you are. You can just claim you love talking about apples.
In Mafia movies, mafia bosses meat at restaurants and instead of talking about the "hit" they discuss the menu. "I recommend the spaghetti with the tomato sauce. They're freshly crushed tomatoes. The taste is to die for". They're discussing a hit, but it doesn't sound like it. Comms.
What if you need to talk over a long distance or to a large number of lesser followers (DS cells) without being caught doing it? You can use symbolism to coordinate. Hollywood movies from the 80s and 90s are filled with them. Eventually they shifted more into the internet and social media for comms, but the DS use to rely a lot more on movies and TV shows for their comms.
It's a way to talk about things you can't be caught saying.
Probably we've all done some degree of comms. Maybe you have a family member you can't be caught bashing for their behavior, so you and another talk in a discrete way to hide what you're really saying. Teenage girls learn to hide their real message all the time.
"That outfit looks so good on you!" (What the teen girl says) = "You look ridiculous and embarrassing" (what she means)
Q translated the comms of one of James Comey's tweets once:
