It is the race against time. The vaccines only target the one spike protein that was in the original Wuhan virus.
Now, look at this critical line from the story:

Dr. Montagnier pointed out that all the virus has to do in order to get around the vaccine is to mutate one protein - the spike protein.
In the case of natural immunity, your body has targetting all kinds of different proteins in the virus. So for the person that recovered from the virus on their own, the mutation doesn't fool the immune system simply by changing one protein.
So the race is on
Over time, all the unvaccinated people will catch the virus, recover from it, and have natural immunity. They will not be vulnerable to the variants that easily sidestep the vaccinated protection.
Eventually they will not be able to hide the fact that only the vaccinated are getting sick. By that time, all the unvaccinated will have herd immunity.
