Very good thread on theory if DoD IP addresses. Basically: used to shut down FB and a shot across the bow. Sauce in comments.

Adding onto this, I’m wondering if there’s connection to Project Flicker and the END Network Abuse Act. DOD servers were hosting a ton of child porn. Notice Mark Meadows was championing the bill. The bill went nowhere (why the f@ck not!) https://thehill.com/policy/cybersecurity/451383-house-bill-aims-to-stop-use-of-pentagon-networks-for-sharing-child#:~:text=The%20End%20National%20Defense%20Network%20Abuse%20%28END%20Network,DOD%2C%20who%20were%20subscribed%20to%20child%20porn%20websites.
I can explain.
All of it is known and are honeypots used by the intelligence services, DOJ / NCMEC, and various State Police crimes against children task forces.
Most of the images stored there are young-looking models/agents or photoshops. We set these up in 2006 or thereabouts.
DoD personnel caught in the net are already turned over to LE, so taking down the honeypots would do nothing more than remove a big investigative resource. On top of that, those of us that were tasked with that duty got our training at the NCJTC.
Project Flicker is a matter of ICE poking around where they shouldn't be, and Meadows perhaps not understanding what was going on behind the scenes when he co-sponsored the bill.
The report was horrible. I couldn’t sleep for days. Are you saying the newborn/infants were stock photos and not really happening?
In the referenced report, some of it is not under DoD control- I.e., the KP we're using in the honeypots is not the really bad stuff, but not necessarily all of what the bad actors have been accessing. In same cases, the pics/videos were self-produced and brought in on removable media for sharing or selling.
Legitimately, I've been out of the know for about 5 years... given how depraved the FBI is, I won't rule out the possibility they put real nasty up there for bait, but I doubt it.
Thank you, and thank you for your service in fighting the good fight. I hope you’re living a sweet life somewhere enjoying cool breezes and a nightly song of tree frogs. You deserve it.
