If this becomes a THING with hundreds of thousands or even millions of people doing it, yeah, I would jump in. It would be an inconvenience, but worth it if all of us are doing it

And, if your bank starts to give you grief, then switch your money to another bank. Kek!

KickingPugilist 13 points ago +13 / -0

Some checking accounts and atms allow you to take up to $1000 out and also accept atm cash deposits.

I'd totally stop by daily on my way to work.

Oh I need a 20?

withdraws 620

deposits $600

TNBanjoMan 12 points ago +12 / -0

...and then back again. Really mess them up.

Love this plan!!

I_Hate_Wet_Socks 13 points ago +13 / -0

You don't have to withdraw it if you have two checking accounts. You can set up transfers that will be automatic between the two.

I told my SO we will be transferring between all 3 accounts. The amount of paperwork banks will need to do ...I laugh just thinking about it.

😂 Yeah, that's funny.

slokill 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yea just set up automatic transfer between checking and savings accounts even. Hajaja.

I_Hate_Wet_Socks 4 points ago +4 / -0

Be careful with savings...some banks have monthly fees if you withdraw too much or too many times in a certain period of time....thieves!

slokill 2 points ago +2 / -0

Very true.

Just have two accounts and Zelle it back and forth.

special1ntere5t 2 points ago +2 / -0

Love the idea - like a ping pong money protest

SurelyShirley 11 points ago +11 / -0

Kek. We have his, hers, and ours checking accounts. So we’re thinking of doing a round robin of transfer every day!

Same! I commented above before seeing your comment.

Fuck that! How about 75,000,000 of us just stop paying our slave fee (income tax) to our Federal Reserve masters!

No doubt! I've been battling the IRS for 20 years. Didn't file for 10 years and it caught up with me...ruthless bastards for sure! Unless a good percentage of us stand with each other it's useless to fight them. They basically do whatever they want.

😆 Nice try. I interviewed for the job to build out the infrastructure to process this data. Even if 75 million of us did that, everyday for 10 years, it would not put a dent in the processing power they were looking to have in place. We're talking a hadoop processing cluster in the 10k to 20k range, per data center!!

Funny thing is that job didn't pay that great either. Wanna get paid bank? Work for a big mega bank.

Oh... :(

6
fatigued 6 points ago +6 / -0

Thought about this this morning. Get a circle of friends and rotate, daily, the same damn $601.

10
LoneWulf [S] 10 points ago +10 / -0

...and just keep circling back. :-)

7
fatigued 7 points ago +7 / -0

By all means, put Jen Piss-aki in the memo. 😜

3
Elcycs 3 points ago +4 / -1

That $601 would be gift income each time and taxable!

4
Oblakhan 4 points ago +4 / -0

You are allowed to give $12,500 per person each year without incurring gift taxes.

2
ceegeegee 2 points ago +2 / -0

It is actually currently $15K per year and is projected to be $16K next year.

1
Oblakhan 1 point ago +1 / -0

Its been a while since I looked into it. It had been steadily climbing.

2
ceegeegee 2 points ago +2 / -0

It has....the reason I stay on top of it is because it is a strategy to pay for insurance premiums - example; rather than gift the $$ directly to the beneficiary(s) you gift to a trust that owns the policy. At death, beneficiary(s) receive proceeds income tax free. (Some states still have inheritance taxes.) Also, if you keep the gift under the exemption levels, you avoid Crummey letters.

2
Elcycs 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thank you, I didn't know the limit. But if they keep passing the $600 around they'll hit that soon enough!

BTW, isn't the proposed regulation accounts with more than $600 of transactions a year?

1
Feelsgoodman 1 point ago +1 / -0

Ahh inflation... I thought it was 10K because of that roof scene in Shawshank 🐸

4
Lapstrake 4 points ago +4 / -0

It would be easy for them to write a script to detect and ignore it.

You have to try harder. They have sophisticated tools.

5
LoneWulf [S] 5 points ago +5 / -0

Then, keep changing the amount -- even a few pennies would do. You can't code for every amount.

4
Lapstrake 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yes you can. I'm a code developer by trade. They have advanced pattern recognition AI. Simple schemes will never cause them any problem.

2
recon_johnny 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'm absolutely doing this, if the commies do their thing.

2
Rotor 2 points ago +2 / -0

Or add the words bomb, jihad, kill, shoot, Allah, infadel and the like as keywords in every email you send. Imagine hundreds of millions of emails filling their investigative folders.

2
Shabooya 2 points ago +2 / -0

Add these words in white text to EVERY email. Can't be seen/read by humans, will be found by AI/data miners. Use the same technique (white text of key words) on resumes to get to top, preferably in the headers and footer

2
Awakenednotwoke 2 points ago +2 / -0

Brilliant!

2
Striker1 2 points ago +2 / -0

We just talked to a friend who works at the IRS. Asked if the amount was really unimportant and just a way to gain access to ANYONE’s account they wanted to observe. He said yes and that even if they can add the 1,000 new positions they are supposed to be getting, they will still not have the additional staff required to observe everyone’s account who makes those transactions. So you’re idea is doubly funny!

1
LoneWulf [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Good to know! Thanks!

2
bluewhiteandred 2 points ago +2 / -0

could we just use crypto

1
pearlrevolver 1 point ago +1 / -0

That's my plan. There's coins that offer way better interest rates than any bank too.

2
Conspiracytheorist 2 points ago +2 / -0

I feel like this will be a loophole for the government to be invasive of someone’s finances if they’re under investigation or they want to investigate someone. They’ll find “money unaccounted for” thus arresting you and doing more beyond that.

1
Gnometard 1 point ago +2 / -1

It's 600 in cumulative transactions, not 600 transactions.

We can't win if people can't read.

1
KewMan 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'm in!

1
EnlightenMe 1 point ago +1 / -0

Lol. That would be absolutely fun to watch their heads spin around like Poltergeist.
