They legitimately ask people these questions and legitimately weight the polls to match the demographic cross-section of the US. The only problem is that that demographic crosssection includes numbers of Democrats based on voting (so tons of dead people, phantom voters, dominion switching, etc.) Rasmussen is D+2 for likely voters. Its probably more like R+2 in reality.
