Have you noticed that it’s mainly 30 something white (single?) females that are the most paranoid? The Covid Karens who worship government and the likes of Fauci and would replace real men with government as their ‘husbands’?
Even when they achieve their goals, which are usually unnecessarily extravagant for the purpose at hand, they still find ways to poke holes in what they've got for an excuse to throw it away and start over.
It isn't really perfectionism, because they actually don't want something that's perfect. They want something that's imperfect which they alone are able to operate, and therefore THEY are special and "perfect" in its presence.
They want to do all of this and still be part of a group. So, when you get a bunch of them together, they will take a system that is completely serviceable as is, fluff it up with unnecessary additions with glaring flaws they each individually can attend to so they artificially justify why they are invaluable to the system's operation.
Their additions never had to be there to begin with, the system is clunky and awkward due to their inclusions, and now only they can operate the system such that if one slips all hell breaks loose.
Eventually, they begin hate each-other for how difficult they make one another's job, and cliques form filled with gossip and back-stabbing. Soon after, most of their time is taken up by the gossip and back-stabbing such that they can no longer sustain the system to which they are a part of. It implodes, someone leaves, everyone freaks out, and the system crashes and burns.
They don't learn any lessons from this disaster and move on to the next thing to destroy.

Their standards are too high.

Tale as old as time...
Peachy Keenan just had a great piece on this.
