I know our phones and social medias listen to us, but I can only think that Google was reading my mind the other day. Let me explain. So, I was cleaning my house and found a little pill on the floor. I assumed it was my daughters, but nor sure which one it was and was worried what would have happened if my dog ate it. So without ever saying anything, or talking to anyone I started to type "oval" into Google, and it completed "shaped pill with" and the exact letters and numbers printed on the pill i found. I had already thrown the pill in the trash before I pulled the phone out of my pocket, so no chance the camera caught a glimpse. And what are the odds that enough people have searched the exact same term for it to auto fill perfectly. IDK.

But Alexa is only listening for the trigger word right? Soon it will be like on Minority report when the video billboards had ads targeted at the people walking by and used their name in video. SMDH
if it is listening for a trigger word. it IS LISTENING......ALL THE TIME
Exactly!
Exactly so. I believe that it also performs a speech to text conversion so everything it can hear will be stored as text on a server somewhere.
I bet there are Data Protection issues somewhere alonmg the way but I am also prepared to bet they have found a way to circumvent those.
My sister has one in her home and I asked her if she would be happy to install a microphone that relayed all her conversations to a neighbour. She said: "Of course not." I am not sure what to do after that!
