I been screaming this!! Those who get 10k are in for a suprise!! Or ANYONE who gets a sizeable refund. Some people catch up on bills with that. Not this year boo!!!
A lot of people, surprisingly, think this is “free money” and even Joe Biden told kids “The IRS pays you!” It’s your money, and you were dumb enough to use the IRS as an interest-free bank account. My goal is to get 0 “refund” and get maximum pay.
I kept trying to tell people that this is money was not without strings.
The Feds were just giving you an advance on next year's return and refund, if any.
If you are one that breaks even or even owes just a little every year you will be in for a shock when you file your taxes after this little 'gift' from the Feds.
Will be the last year I file I think. Going to file and then mark exempt on my w-4, make the max amount of claims for state. Time for the theft to end.
I keep seeing people posting things like this, and I have to admit I don't understand what they mean.
None of the stimulus money people received was taxable. You don't list it as income. Unless you think you didn't receive as much stimulus money you were supposed to, you really don't have to worry about it.
The only reason I can see the IRS needing more agents is maybe because of people who, before the pandemic, didn't bother to file taxes because they made too little but now file taxes because you need to file in order to get the stimulus checks.
I completely understand that the money used to cover the stimulus checks adds to our national debt and will have to be paid at some point.
But that's not what we're talking about here. We're talking about people who are filing their taxes next year and problems that will happen because of the stimulus money.

Reminds me of two years ago, I got a check in the mail for $0.02 from the lRS. I should frame it
For state taxes a few years ago I owed exactly $1 and I felt the same way
Probably not even worth filing this year 🤷🏼♀️

This will by my second year of non-filing, fuck them.
silly thing about it is IRS (besides robbing us) knows exactly how much we owe but want us to do it. Then grill us when we miss something.

That money you recieved was not a gift, it was from future credits.
What exactly do you mean by "future credits"?
