We are in agreement. I even go a step further and say that felons should be allowed to have guns in their home. No, you can't have it outside your home until your rights are fully restored, but deprivation of home defense regardless is unconstitutional. Of course one might say, "what's to stop them from using it for crime?" To which I answer, "having the gun does not enable crime, they'll get illegally regardless. That's same dumb argument gun control advocates use."
We also need to redefine what constitutes a felony. Anything non-violent should be a misdemeanor at worst only to be elevated for repeat offenses, but even then non-violent felons should never be stripped of their right to self defense.
