20 years ago, i believed that everything i saw on TV news, or heard on NPR, was true,
and that there was merely a right-left slant,
on an otherwise truthful story, such as 9/11
Today, if i happen to watch TV news, or listen to NPR, i automatically believe everything they say is lies.
What about the weather? or sports scores? or stock prices?
first of all, these things aren't "news", as much as they are a distraction from the actual news.
and furthermore, if you go down some rabbit holes, you will discover even the weather, sports, and stocks are manipulated.
so if Rittenhouse is on CNN, and NPR... its fake news.
if the Christmas parade crasher is on CNN and NPR... its fake news.
so what is the real news?
The most important "news," the biggest red pill of all --- is that Jesus is real and He is God. Everything else, no matter how 'immediate,' pales in comparison to getting that news. Because once you've got it, all the other news sort of falls away. It's there, but your perspective on it shifts, because you know that no matter what happens, God wins. And if you're on the winning team, you literally have God watching out for you.
After that, trying to sift through and make sense of the 'news of the day' is sometimes daunting. And just like having friends you know and trust, finding news sources you know and trust makes all the difference. I view the people here as more discerning than most, but even at that, I still find it necessary to do my own due diligence and take nothing for granted.
Amen times ten!
