I've actually been pondering this line of thinking too. If it is necessary to cull the opposition (or even, just necessary to show people), Trump cannot come out against it for the very practical reason that doing so would build a ton of momentum against the vax. Like it or not, lots of Trump supporters DO listen to him, and guess what, if they are the kind of supporters who listen to him about this, they are more chaff than wheat if we're completely honest about it.

Compelling. It may not be 100% the plan but it explains a lot of contradictions we'e seen.
Indeed, the "explaining contradictions" part is what's been leading me to ponder in this fashion.
