I believe the term Yamamoto used was 'a rifle behind every blade of grass'. The 100 million man American militia is the largest army on Earth and there is no force that can defeat US. 'They' can destroy America, but they can not Own or rule it.
I have seen a couple of these turn up at gun shows over the past few decades, but ONLY a couple. They are now quite rare and for a collector of WWII memorabilia very expensive. Since I don't collect commemorative or memorabilia firearms, I don't lust for one of these.... still, however, I love to know its history and how it came about. Brilliant.
WWII reproductions don't have the same cache as original, authentic items made during the war for military purposes. Since I don't buy antiques, curiosities, or commemorative firearms, I don't buy reproductions either. The new ones could sell for $50 and I still wouldn't want one.

You can buy a new one for about four hundred, they still make them, but you only get a few shots they are not made to last
