The poster is likely in the middle of getting as much information as they can and just have the few moments to post in between. would you rather they not post? It seems to me that you should use the deport button, as it is the responsibility of all users and MODs to determine what is/isn't helpful information. It is in the rules, after all. Who are you really mad at here? Be careful with ideas like this as well. For many we are lucky to be able to get information at all. What would you like? Keywords? In this post I wish to address? Small list of my findings within this document? If the readers cannot be bothered to drop two minutes each to determine if the information is valuable to them.... then the reader IS lazy. The poster of the information is likely to have already spent the time to read what they are posting about determined it was valuable and then took the time to post it.
How ungrateful, "I have to sift through information provided to me by strangers that took their time and skills to consolidate the information in a place that makes it much easier to gather the information than anywhere else on the Web." you are more than welcome to search everything for yourself, which is what a lot of the posters have spent their time doing. Tis a thankless job, and I am very greatful to not be one of them right now having seen how thankless it can be.
If you are unable to sift through information the way it is presented maybe you should make your own site and do it the way you prefer! Be the change you want to see ;) Please do link me to it as I would like a break from searching the web and would like to be spoon fed Headlines that allow me the opportunity to not have to deep dive into the content provided. Media! Come on, Man!
Just be thankful that this site exists in the first place. Jeez
" If the readers cannot be bothered to drop two minutes each to determine if the information is valuable to them.... then the reader IS lazy."
So you're saying I should use 100+ minutes of my time every day to screen articles/videos instead of someone who is familiar with it, having supposedly read it already, bothering to take the time to write one or two quick sentences? GTFO. Considering the fact that virtually every single one of those types of users posts duplicates of so many other peoples topics, it's obvious their efforts are shit to begin with. Fewer posts with higher quality goes a long damned way.
If you cannot see the danger in having a headline or summary, over the reader taking the time for themselves to get familiar with the information you have a real problem. The Media is famous for this method.
If you find it is duplicate or not real information there is a procedure for that, DEPORT. Thin the numbers of the shills that would post nothing-burgers and bullshit! Like are you honestly asking that shills let you know that they are shilling? WTF!? Good luck.
It takes a team and where you could be helping others you are wasting your time arguing with me! Again, you could also source all of the information yourself. We are going to have to be able to get through all of the misinformation by ourselves. There is no one here to hold our hands.
That's right, because newspapers should not have headlines or introductory paragraphs, God forbid you tell your audience what you are directing them to. We should just spam links ad infinitum. Even a single line of info would direct more people to an article then a stupid blank link. It's beyond idiotic to suggest a brief sentence or two would deter more people from reading an article than otherwise would on a freakin site people go to for some direction on places to dig. It's not arguing, it's elucidation, put some wrinkles in that brain of yours, smooth is bad.
I deport plenty, nothing wrong with attempting to improve a site for the lazy "veteran" posters.
Let me elucidate for you then. It is a common tactic of Media to hide the truth behind a catchy headline or summary of information. It makes the reader stupid for the experience as they will assume the best intention of the poster and likely will not bother to continue further into the content. This is a tried and true method of hiding information in plain sight. So I agree, they should not. It also allows for confirmation bias, sets you up for the possibility of cognitive dissonance. This isn't new. We cannot become what we are fighting against.
This happens all the time with the Bible. People will quote certain verses to make it seem like something it isn't YOU have got to read it yourself.
Look into the power of suggestion as well. If a claim is made before a presentation I can present something that does not possess the claim but because the claim was made you will be none the wiser that the presentation was lacking or made counter claims, unless you pay very close attention.
Take the time to click the links and read. Be glad that people aren't trying to lead you. Make your own inferences. Or do not and wait on the highlights! If it isn't good enough for you why are you even here? This kind of glows like you are trying to find specific information so that you can shut it down before it becomes known....
Do you have to pay per click or what?
