I have family (in-laws) in Puerto Rico. The folks there are so brainwashed, my brother in-law & his family are anyways, my mother in-law goes along with whatever just so not to cause problems, not so much because she believes all the idiocy.
To visit Puerto Rico you must “Complete a Travel Declaration”.
From their “Travel Safe” webpage:
“Everyone over 2 years old who is not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Moderna, Pfizer or Janssen vaccines, must provide evidence of a negative molecular or antigen test for COVID-19 performed within the 72-hour period prior to your arrival to Puerto Rico.”
“NOTICE: Any passenger arriving without a PCR test result for COVID-19 will be assessed a $300 fine. However, this will be waived if the traveler presents the test or evidence that a test was performed within 48 hours of arrival. This applies to all travelers over 2 years old who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Pfizer, Moderna or Janssen vaccines.

Ok so I’m thinking ... so if you go without a PCR test result & pay their $300 fine, what happens then? Do they make you quarantine for 2 weeks? And if they say you have to quarantine, then how will they know if you do or not, track your cell phone? Or is this just about money they can collect? I saw on another page that they do contact tracing if they think someone is sick. And every unvaxxed person has to wear a mask even outside in the fresh air, even when sitting around an hotel’s pool, though you can take it off when in the water. However if you show proof that you are “fully” vaxxed then you don’t have to wear a mask.
Guess hubby and I won’t be visiting the island anytime soon.
