Just over a year ago, I've found God. I was involved in a car accident that should have crippled me, i walked away with just some bruising. After that, i struggled to find an explanation as to why i was spared I came too see that there is more to the world than meets the eye, and we have a noble creator. I found that the only explanation is that there is a God, and i have guardian angels looking out for me. I thought i had cheated death probably 10 times during my life between my wreckless adventures, my time in AFG, mistakes and just misfortunes; but i didnt cheat anything, and its just was not my time.

Since then, i have started to pray occasionally, mostly just for guidance through some difficulties I faced, and i did feel like i was guided. Once you have seen, you can't unsee. I started noticing things for the blessings that they are.

This brings me to two of the most current things in my life. I am a father and was just given emergency custody of my son. I thought this was a negative until i looked at it from different perspective. Its a blessing, i have the chance to rear my son the way i see fit. To raise him to be the kind of man I still aspire and strive to be.

Couple this with i just found that my favorite singer / artist has released a new album. The artist comes from a alternative rock band, and has ventured on his own the last couple years. The new album has a favorite song of mine, "Closer, my God, to thee". The album has many religious songs, and two i would say are more of a "Christmas" song.

Having a new album to explore, to further develop my relationship with God, at this current point with all the current stress ive been under with the way things have played out is another blessing. I wish i wasnt so hard headed in my younger years and could have seen things for what they really are earlier. But still God is great and i am thankful for everything.

"But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear."

When you "wake up" the world becomes a different place. :)

I love this: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation: the old has gone, the new has come!" (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Praise the Lord. God found me this year as well. Once you peel away the layers of everything that's happening in the world today it boils down to one thing. It's God versus Satan and his minions. EVERY person of note on our side is a believer in Christ. EVERY person of note on their side commits evil acts and secretly worships the enemy.

I've never been a believer but respected Christians as a whole as they had a right to believe what they wanted and for the most part we shared Christian values. As I was pondering this over the summer sitting alone in my garage I decided to test this.

I sincerely prayed from the bottom of my heart to God. I prayed to God and gave my life to him. If these men and women who I respect believe and have given their lives to God then why can't I? I declared Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior right there in my garage. I opened myself completely to God, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus Christ. I repented for my sins and asked God to forgive me.

What happened next I consider nothing less than a miracle. I was completely and totally filled with God's love. I wept. All I could think of was that God is Love and that I wasn't worthy of such love. I knew at that moment that God has always been with me. Even when I committed horrible sins God watched over me. This was as real as anything I had ever felt. Suddenly I was one way, and then another. I had instantly changed.

If I ever had any doubts all I have to do is think back to that day as I sat alone in my Garage and gave my life to Jesus Christ. My faith is solid. I felt God's love and I KNOW he is real.

Great testimony. God's been busy these past couple dozen months, hasn't He. 😉

Had almost the same experience regarding "respecting Christians but not understanding, then deliberately asking for Him, and receiving Him".

I was nonplussed. Then amazed. I continue to be Amazed. 🙏

I believe that God is gathering his people to him. I've always heard of people being saved and baptized of course, but I never understood it. To me, it was always something that happened at church. That friends or relatives talked their friends or family into going to church, and they simply joined the church.

I never realized that God's love could enter a person like that. That someone could change instantly. As I researched after the fact I found out that it's common. I wasn't convinced by a Pastor or a relative to accept Christ. I had no preconceived notion of what would happen to me if I gave my life to God. I just did it and felt his presence. It was a miracle that has defined the rest of my life going forward. I only regret it took me so long.

Have you watched 'The Chosen'? I ask because of you saying 'suddenly I was one way, then another'. There is a scene where Mary Magdalene is asked by the rabbi who drove out her demons. She did not know it was Jesus. Her reply..."I was one way, and now I am completely different. And the thing that happened in between was Him".

I am genuinely happy for your experience.

ravonaf 4 points ago +4 / -0

I have. After the fact. Which amazed me even more. I never believed that a person could change instantaneously. Then it happened to me. Then I see that it happens all the time. So much so that it's all throughout the Bible and there are tons of testimony online of it happening to other people. I guess it's something no one can understand until it's happened to them. I've since learned that it's the Holy Spirit entering your body that changes you. God truly is great.

Thank you for sharing your testimony friend. I know exactly how you felt, many of us have. When your taken over by God’s love. It’s amazing. Hard to explain, especially without tearing up. Jesus’s love for us...it tears me up every time. Also about the church. Jesus is the church. You are the church. But having said that, if you ever went to church with a friend or whom ever, you can get surrounded by those who have went through the same situations and found the same feeling of love that you have. I prayed to be surround by followers of Christ, and those prayers were answered. It’s amazing. They are my church family now. I also get to learn more about the Bible and general teachings of Christ. I need this. Also my Sunday school class, awesome!

I’m so happy for you. Wish I knew you in real life. We’d go together to my church, or just hang out and talk about all things Jesus. Love ya brother.

🙏❤️💯

Amen! I too did the sinner's prayer alone in my garage. My miracle was different: it was light in the middle of the night. Not broad daylight light, but still. I couldn't tell you if it would have been visible to anyone else had they seen it or just a vision for me.

Jesus says He is the Light.

Amen amen! Jesus Christ is the only one who can create saints out of sinners - on the spot no less! No eastern religion, psychology, philosophy, "spiritual experience", awakening(even if it's 'great'), can compare its fruits to the millions of testimonies of transformed, reborn Christians trusting on the blood of Jesus for salvation. Thank you for sharing yours!

God allowed you to survive all those knuckle-headed adventures so you could finally find Him. It takes humility to face the fact (obvious to all except ourselves sometimes) that we are not the center of the universe.

I'm glad you had a change of heart about your little boy, though I can't imagine why you thought having custody of your son would be a negative (and I'm not asking). Especially 'emergency' custody, which suggests a dire situation. I pray that this opportunity creates a lifelong bond for both of you and that your son will have the proper guidance and instruction from you that he needs to grow into the man God would have him be. I hope you found or will find a great, bible believing church where you and your son can get stuck in and make great friends and learn more and more about God. God bless. All the best to you.

I didnt think negative was the right word for it. I guess that the situation having to happen was a negative.

Oh, gotcha. Anyway, this could be the greatest thing that has ever happened to you -- or him. I hope you embrace the opportunity and make the most of it. Good luck!

Draw close to the Lord - read your Bible (King James version), pray everyday and follow Jesus Christ's example of righteousness in your life. You've made a great decision to accept Jesus as your Savior. God bless you.

Praise God! I love your testimony. You lived your life without knowing God at first. The beautiful thing is, you will be able to tell your story to more “knuckle heads” & only your story will make sense to them. This song reminds me of you & your son: Talking to Jesus by Elevation Worship

Brother, you had my updoot with your title, but your actual story was freaking uncanny. Very, VERY similiar experiences here, and basically the same path of Awakening.

God has a "playbook" too. And he IS Great. It's the most wonderous, humbling and beautiful feeling in Life to finally see.

Hallelujah!

I appreciate reading everyone's stories, it inspires me. I think of myself as a Christian but lately feeling like why, I feel sad my prayers do not get answered or why we need to pray when God sees everything going on in this world. I want to help my adult children to be happy and have someone in their lives to share the journey. I do not know why I can not feel at peace? Or feel that God Loves me? Thank you though, I am glad to read God is in all your life's. Maybe if you read this Pray for me and my children today! God Bless

Theology on prayer: God gave dominion to our species. We use our dominion to give God permission to do what we know He wants to do anyway.

This changes everything!

"In Him is yea and amen." His yes, our let it be so.

Simple as. And we have some mountains to move ...

You truly are being given a gift. Don't squander it. There is no going back when they are grown. Through every temper tantrum, try to remember that he will never be this age again. I hope for many blessings for you and your little one this season, and the rest.

Praise Jesus! Amen! Awesome testimony! I was on another path and the Lord woke me up one night this past summer and opened my eyes. I was on the wrong path. I accepted Jesus as my Saviour back in the 90s but strayed away until this year. I always knew God was with me but I was deep in sin. So grateful to the Lord, with His grace he scared me literally awake that night. Afterwards I thought it was a dream. I watched something coming towards me in my bed and I started screaming for my wife. Then started binding Satan and I woke up. But I realized this was a sign of God to snap out of it. Since then, I have been in it. Everything makes much more sense now, I see all this evil in the world. Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
