Seriously, they have a Lord Shiva statue out front. A purely scientific endeavor wouldn't need that.

We almost had one in the US that would dwarf CERN. It was being built in Waxahachie, TX until Congress defunded it. So there are buildings and lots of underground tunnels. https://interestingengineering.com/usas-super-collider-lies-abandoned-texas-desert
