If school shootings weren't a semi-normal occurrence, I would agree with you. But they can and do happen and whether they're manufactured or not, it can still be dangerous.
Considering that school is bullshit, I don't see what it hurts to play it safe. Especially when you consider the fact that schools lose money when your child is absent. :D
The issue is responding to whoever is driving this fear, as they want you to.
And again, normally I would agree with you, but I see no harm in keeping your child out of school for one day and making the schools lose money as a bonus.
I get where you're coming from, I just don't agree in this instance.
