Didn’t Nevada pass a bill last year basically making it okay for corporations to “rule over” entire towns of “employees?”
There was SyFy show produced by Ben Affleck about a dystopian future where everyone is a citizen of a different corporation; I remember hearing that Nevada passed a bill allowing that future to become a reality.
Gov Sissylack proposed the bill, but last I saw the state legislature never even considered it.
On the one hand company towns are not a new idea… on the other hand they are such a terrible idea there is a reason that it hasn’t been done in a century.

You load 16 tons, what do you get?
Another day older and deeper in debt
St. Peter, don't you call me 'cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the company store
Thank you for this; I am glad I was wrong.
Agreed on company towns not being a good idea or offering benefits to the people living and working in them.
