The family friends we usually celebrate xmas with had a close friend they were with 3 days prior test positive and come down w symptoms of covid (hope she gets better.) They are all double vaccinated and boosted. My entire family is too besides me. So they decided to cancel xmas even though they all supposedly have triple protection. Feelsbadman, to my family, if I bring up any basic facts they get mad and try to shut down the conversation immediately. My sister wants to change the subject to sports and I was like yah I'd root for Aaron Rodgers & Kyrie Irving. I asked them if they thought they were better qualified to make a decision about whats safe and healthy then the super bowl winning MVP and his staff... instant triggered and highly emotional response, no way to even have a normal conversation.
