What VPN should I get if so? I thought I would as you guys since y’all are probably more educated on this issue and are willing to look into what is going on with the deep state overreach.

You’re already on a list somewhere from posting this…welcome to the family :)
Kinda like getting the vaccine for protection from covid. You get it, you feel protected... then bam, unprotected.
Yeah. I’m gonna see what others say but I’ve always been skeptical of weather they’re just NSA run government operations or not.
I wonder how many VPN providers are direct conduits to Intel agencies.
If they want to profile you, they can (and they already have), regardless of a VPN.
So then just let your ISP collect 100% of all your data and forward to the government and sell it to corporations and NGO's...
It gets you to inadvertently trust them too. Like controlled opposition in a way. You trust the vpn companies without knowing they’re government.
Nah. To much and you need to trust the vpn provider because their can keep you tracked
I believe VPNs were set up so they you could, say, work from home without having to install your own cable between your computer and your office router. Basically, you encrypt your data and send it over the Internet instead. So it was not really intended to be a "stealth" device.
It can be useful to pretend you are somewhere where you are not. For instance, if I try to link to certain sites in the US from the UK I am told that I do not have access but if I start using a VPN server in the US then I can access those sites with no problem.
The main problem with VPNs as I see it is that while you are hiding your location from the website you are using you are telling your VPN provider all your secrets like user names, passwords, search history etc.
Using a TOR browser would be more secure but even that is not 100% safe.
Here is a summary: https://youtu.be/6ohvf03NiIA
I was hacked to the point where they were listening in on me. It was very scary. I got a VPN. It took me months to feel safe again. I felt very violated. I hear what everyone is saying and you are probably right but to some degree at least my identity feels protected. Maybe a false sense of security not sure.
How do you know they were "listening to you"?
Because they somehow disabled my phone and repeated back a conversation I was having with my niece.

routing all of your internet traffic through another entity who may be tracking you and selling your data while making it sound like they are on your side?
if you want some privacy get brave browser and use TOR when you truly need to.
Braves version of tor is no near as secure as the tor browser.
TOR is also very slow for daily browsing.
quite true. the question is, how much does a person need that level of privacy for?
Have you seen the current state of China?
let's pretend we can avoid the monitoring until things have really changed. aaaaand, that's over cuz i fukkin hate make believe.
if it's free, you are the product.
