The thing about this dude is that he has always been kind of up front about the sex and depravity part of who he is, and anyone that is honest with themselves about something tend to have much clearer lines and standards in regard to what they will and won't do,.

It is quite possible that he is someone they expected to honeytrap and get blackmail material on by ways of someone underage, but that actually resisted those attempts because of knowing/accepting himself and having the clear lines that he wouldn't cross that come from it...
