You can't fix anything when you don't know that it's broken. Everyone must know and understand what has happened so that this never, ever happens again. Being ignorant of the facts is not an option.

I believe your comment to be right. The only problem I have is the never, ever part; it has been proven, by time, that people fall back into the "live and let live" kind of attitude and the process kind of starts over--that may take a few years, maybe hundreds, but it will more than likely still happen.
