I'll let you in on a secret - I've been basically dead inside since August. My heart was broken then, and possibly beyond repair (still don't know one way or the other) when I gained the unenviable title of "widower".
Before that tragic day, the only thing I truly cared for or about with all my heart was my wife. So long as she was alive, I'd tell her these things, and she'd be glad to hear they were being stopped. However, at the end of the day we both didn't really think much about anyone else deep down, so long as the other one was alive and well.
Now it's just me, so y'all get to hear all the suffering being ended now instead of me telling just her. I also needed something to tell me the world isn't just a dark hellscape of evil and unforgivable depravity ad infinitum, and someone to tell that "yes its happening, but its also being ended at last." ergo archiving and compiling these posts now give me a reason to have any fucks to give about this benighted world.
Sorry for your loss. I'm just slowly climbing out of the black hole of emptiness and despair after losing my son Dec 2018 and my husband Oct 2019. This site and the people have helped me feel a part of the human race. To be honest though, while it is easier to keep taking a breath each day and while my broken heart still beats, I feels like I simply find 'little meaningful' things to do to keep me busy. I will forever hold dear the thousands of talks my husband and I had sitting on the tailgate of his truck in the driveway. We had the whole world figured out, lol, and we never ran out of things to talk about. Sounds like your wife was the same kind of loyal friend of the spirit some of us are lucky to find once in a lifetime. As time passes, while the pain is less, I'll be honest, it isn't the same. One can stay busy but life feels like so much 'waiting'.... until your words, I was beginning to think there is something wrong with me. But I guess nothing is wrong, there is just too much missing. And like you, I want simply to feel there is beauty in this world once more. (I think of your posts everytime I watch the clip of the soldiers/cops rescuing the broken/stolen children and silently wish each AH you mention received the same righteous 'beat down' when being arrested.)
