Catholic Church has been an ailing giant for years. Number of new priests being ordained has plummeted. Which leads to Priests otherwise unsuited for running a parish being placed in charge of running a parish. With predictable results. Attendance has gone through ups and downs but generally speaking has been trending down. The Various Catholic Religious orders are struggling for membership. And that’s not even factoring in the abuse cases and criminal investigations.
As a result. The Church is trying to rebrand itself under Francis as being hip and modern. Aka liberal. Which is usually what leads to much of the drama surrounding Francis. Either he’s said something or done something that the media pounces on for easy clicks.
The general Traditionalist/Conservative faction that was more or less in charge for centuries. At least publicly. Has been sidelined. As they for the most part took the brunt of the blame for the various scandals, and drama that’s occurred over the years. With a generally far more Liberal/Leftist faction that has been growing in strength and numbers for years suddenly becoming the new leadership.
As a result the members of the Traditionalists/Conservative faction are either being forced to resign from offices they hold, shunted off into dead end unimportant roles, and or forced into retirement. Which for Catholic clergy. Usually amounts to being carted off to anyone of the clergy retirement homes the church runs until they eventually die. There are rumors though that they’ve had some rivals assassinated over the years.
The Traditionalist/Conservative Remnant though such as the likes of Archbishops Vigano continues to be a thorn in Francis and the liberals side though.
I would agree with your assesment of the decline in ways, but I think you are naiive of the true situation. I was that way too before I started doing some digging into what is actually going on.
I was mostly covering just the barebones surface level. I suppose what you could call the “public level” of what you could fine without too much hassle.
The Rabbit Hole surrounding the decline of the Catholic Church is very deep. And Lord knows I could go on and on about the subject of the Churches decline. And the multitude of theories surrounding it. Most of which are extensive topics on their own.
Frankly I deliberately didn’t really touch on most of it. Because I don’t have the plethora of time to cover such a deep extensive topic with the justice it deserves at the moment.
And because generally I feel most around here wouldn’t care too much about it. Since generally the feel I get is most around here don’t care for and dislike the Catholic Church in general and or on principle. And logically wouldn’t care to read an examination of what exactly is causing an organization they dislike immensely to decline in the first place. Which would render the exercise a waist of my time.
Yep that's probably true - and I would generally agree that the causes are deep and vast. However of particular interest, and where I think Q and the Catholic Church intersect, is that it seems like the same group (deep state/masons/etc) who has taken over the government has also taken over the catholic church. Part of that was running it's reputation into the ground. Almost like what they're doing to the US govt right now.
It may be worth studying because it seems like the same or similar playbook. They probably have used it many other places but the fact that Vatican was such a large organization, and the US was/is too, makes them noteworthy and potentially worthy of comparison and study.
