I challenge you to dig, but you will not find much. All of her factual online bios start with her college education. A few guess that she was "born and raised in San Francisco", but offer no proof and literally no other details. No childhood photos, no high school, no early life social media, no news paper articles...
A chinese doctor that does not exist until she entered the American University system and eventually finds herself in DC married to the Surgeon General.

It's likely Alice Chen isn't her original name. If she's from China, she's going to have a 3 character Chinese name that will then be romanized based on the sound of those 3 characters (example: Cheng Li Hong)
Unless you have access to the immigration records (which some journalists do), you won't know the official spelling of her romanized name in China.
Also to add, if she was born in America, she could have changed her name (first and last if she wanted) after she got married. It's also possible she changed her name before she got married. It's hard to tell without her SSN (and there are way too many Alice Chen's) and access to birth records.
