Hey look I respect your opinion, however I think the State of Georgia got it right, if your pregnant and you get an abortion in less than. 2 months fine but after that no exception. This was it deters lessens the false accusation cases because ots your own fault if your the victim of rape or incest if you didn't get it after 2 months.
(I don't have a solution for sex slave victims tho soooo I don't know how I feel about that or what the statures should be tho but it's something that has to be super difficult to prove for a post 2 month abortion)
I only say this because I try putting myself in in a situation if something horrific such as rape happened to my own daughter (I have no kids btw just a scenerio) I would want to do everything in my power to make sure that child didn't come to term.
I get life is a sacred thing, but there are certain things that never go away for someone when they realize how they were brought about, and no amount of good could ever make them feel while. Like if I knew my mother was raped but still broght me to term, the everlasting feeling of violation brought upon my mother would never go away.
I do admire your chivalry for protecting the innocent, its just I don't want this to also give the green light to sexual predators u know. Thoughts?
Hi. My deepest sympathy for your trauma, and what I say next is said with cate and consideration for what you've been through.
So if a 11 year old girl was raped by some 40 year old creep and this resulted in their daughter being pregnant, there should be no recourse? How is an 11 year old expected to take care of a child? Can her body even Handel it?
While this might be an extreme case, it begs the question of should you ban abortion outright?
Also I used the georgia abortion law as an example for a good abortion law. Basically it states that you can abortion a pregnancy but no later than 2 months. It's essentially the lawful way of saying a detectable heart beat. But no exception for any case including rape or incest.
However what if you amended the law to say if you abortion your pregnancy, you have to wait 6-12 months before you can receive another (in other words of something went wrong the option is there to fix a mistake, however that's you're free pass and should you bare another life you will not be able to abort that pregnancy)
Again this isn't an easy choice for someone to go through, but I don't want to encourage someone to abuse abortion either or claim false rapes to abort a pregnancy.
Thoughts?
So, when do YOU think life begins?
Is an unborn baby violating their mother? Do you think them predators as well? Or, are they an innocent insider? Shouldn’t they have a say in the matter? Shouldn’t they get a chance to decide if they want to live? Do you think a baby is just part of their mother to be shredded limb from limb and tossed out as garbage like a scab or a piece of used toilet paper?
Ok so I cited the georgia law that in a nutshell states that if you want to receive an abortion you have no more than 2 months to receive one and no exception after that.
However there should also be an addendum stating that they should not be able to go and get another one for 6-12 months. Essentially if u needed a pass for some kind of weird situation or something isn't right you get one pass after that u must carry to term.
I'm trying to propose a solution between pro life and pro choice. We live with people of competing philosophies. While I lean in the pro life stance, I also can't deny situations where it could be helpful, but don't want to abuse the open window or increase false rape accusations.
Now I've read some stories how ppl who kept the baby were able to raise them successfully to be good people, one was about how a nun convinced a women to keep her rape child on her way to get an abortion. Point being is that it was their choice to keep the child or not and she felt like she made the right choice.
But what of someone was not able to raise it right or just mentally unstable? Also for birth defects such as down syndrom for example that you could detect, I would like the option to abort a pregnancy because if that child is brought to term I know I would love that child but no one in this cruel world would love that child like me when I'm gone. I wouldn't want to put them in constant state of loneliness.
What my word rambling is all about is we should be shoot for Georgia like legislation because you will never be able to ban abortion outright or convince enough people to do so. But you'll save the most loves you can because look at alcohol when you outlawed it, it just pushed everything underground instead of addressing the problem. I think by Georgia showed the model for convincing enough people to keep their child instead of abusing abortion every chance also like I said 6-12 month cooling period
my memory isn't so good about things like this, and not sure about how things are today, but seems like i recall that if a pregnant woman was murdered, the perp was charged with double homicide? that should be a definitive determination of the beginning of life?
That's true. They have overturned previous decisions before. Not often, but in these extreme cases where rights for certain individuals were previously overlooked, it is only right to correct them.
Amen.
Amen

Shouldn't an unborn human be afforded the same protections?
Amen

Agreed! chelthing is correct, as well.
The Supreme Court should have overturned the fraudulent election to acknowledge that the American voters are people.
Amen and everyone who every took part in the act of murdering an unborn baby MUST be tried and prosecuted and HELD ACCOUNTABLE
Yes yes a thousand times yes!!! Babies are born knowing the things we have forgotten. Babies are alive as soon as the heart issues it's first beat.
They are going to overturn it to enforce mandates.
SCOTUS is compromised - and they don't make rulings except only for political expediency.

It's easy. States can ignore Roe just like it was a federal Pot law.

Exactly
We need to abolish the heinous act of murdering the unborn.
