Amazon bought out Twitch.tv which is a streaming platform. Originally for gamers only but they eased up restrictions to increase revenue since they successfully monopolized the streaming space. The Doc was one of their biggest names on the site and was getting offers to be exclusive on other platforms challenging Twitch (I believe Ninja was the first to jump ship which caused Amazon to take Doc seriously in negotiations) so twitch caved to his massive demands and signed the biggest contract to date with him to keep him on their platform. Then not long after the deal was announced he was permanently banned from Twitch and nobody has ever given a legitimate reason for it but they kept it vague enough that it sounded like he was a rapey piece of shit so they couldn't release details without exposing possible victims. The timing was also around the same time they purged other problematic streamers iirc. Seems like the powers that be weren't comfortable giving a conspiracy theorist a place on their platform which makes some sense when you know who owns Amazon and in turn owns Twitch now.
