I always scheduled it for midweek but the pc was off. So I would turn it on and be fucked

I fled the scene. I've been over here in OSX for like ... 15+ years now. Lol.

You can turn off the updating permanently and then just update manually when you feel like it.

I have my computer doing things 24/7 sometimes, and it would screw things up. The browser can remember where it was at, but nothing else can.
