Maybe I am losing my faith in other people. At this point if you can't see it how can I trust you?

They say eyes are the windows to the soul, and eye contact is what's important, but I'm realizing how much more the mouth is the core of expression and looking into people.
I have noticed more than once when I'm one of the only people without a mask that kids will connect with me. One time it was ofldd because this little guy was looking at me like I knew him and wouldn't take his eyes off of me. I realized later it was because I was not wearing a mask. I m a parent too soni can tell when kids are looking around, or looking at someone they know or are connected with, and it seemed oddly like he thought he knew me.
The other day I was walking unmasked through countless masked people and a kid about 9-10 in a mask locked on toe and waved at me for no other reason that I can think of other than that I was the only one around without a mask.
I think when this happens it's important that we aknowledge them in as friendly of a way as possible. Smile and wave back for the kids sake
