My husband is still fighting Omicron. He was in the recliner for a while and farted, couldn't get up and the rest is History. Just saying.......you've got to watch those slip outs. WHAT A MESS.
My wife & I were effected so differently with the strain she brought home.
Her: Lost her smell.
Me: Couldn't stay awake for 20+ hours per day & am grateful my adrenaline kicked in enough for emergencies 30 steps away... We found out pretty quick we couldn't use the recline feature in our bed during that time LoL
As long as he fan laugh about it, then just let him know that frens understand he shat on that China Flu & won LoL
Haha. Right now he's still in the 20+ hours sleep/tired range. It's been since December 27/28 and still no improvement. He refuses to let me take him to the VA. Yesterday I did manage to get him to eat a nice salad with chicken. He didn't eat the whole thing but he managed more than usual. Today I am going to force him out of bed for a shower; God know's it's been a while. He simply has no strength or energy to get around. That's why I made him the salad last night for energy. Hoping and praying it kicks in today and then I'll make him another. He hasn't eaten much in the whole time he's been sick. Still working on be forceful over his stubborness.
It took me about 14 days before I started to sleep less than 20 hrs per day, and 3 weeks before I was sleeping less than 12.
The shower is certainly needed for everyone's sanity (I promise his included), though if he only rinses, with you holding them up, & then getting back to bed might be just fine.i needed them & needed help the few times I took them. Granted I used a Bedjet to keep me cool & dry so fewer showers were needed. Solid foods may interrupt the rest, at least for me it made things much worse for rest, though I recovered trying solid foods twice during those couple of weeks (this happened over Thanksgiving for me).
That time a near narcoleptic tireness was keeping me down I wondered if I would ever do more than wake only to stumble to a bathroom to explode.
Rest, liquid quinine (couldn't get HQC), electrolytes, & sleeping through the zinc nasuea with no food on my stomach were key for my recovery. During the hours I was awake (10-30 minutes at a time) my wife made me essentially walk up & down the hall after I used the toilet. The body needs to move to keep your lymp system working if I understand that correctly. So even moving 5 minutes a few times a day & then right back to sleep for hours if needed worked well for me.
I might find it more funny than my wife that I almost flooded our upstairs & kitchen below falling asleep over the drain in our shower.... Did I mention you may/WILL want to help them with that shower 🤣?
My prayers go out to them & you for helping them with this. WWG1WGA my friend. Though forgive me if I don't go to that recliner or bathroom with you guys LoL
Bless you for telling me everything that you went through. It sounds like everything my husband is going through. I went out today and picked up some Sprite; he wanted 7Up or Ski but store had neither. Then I picked up some Men's One a Day 50+. It has vitamins C, D and Zinc. I can not get hydrochlorquine or Ivermectin. What I'd love is to get him to the VA but he insists he's not going anywhere where they'll JAB him. So this is what I have to contend with. He even asked for Pizza today so we got him/ my daughter-in-law picked it up; a Brooklyn Style with all the toppings he likes. He swore it was too SPICY. My 3 year old and 16 month old grandchildren loved it.
While I was at the Neighborhood Market, a friend of mine waited on me at the register. She used to work in a Nursing Home. She asked how he was and I told her. She said, "Go home and get him up and moving about now. If he doesn't already have pneumonia with the Covid, he will set himself up with it."
That worked for a bit. He did go to the bathroom and stand and comb his hair, but then went back to lay down. It's almost like he's given up. He hasn't shaved in weeks. He went from clean-shaven to a mustache and goatee. He looks like Wolfman Jack. So I am just dealing with this as best as I can.
Thanks to all my friends who tell me about what they went through. I had it too and I was tired, low energy, could smell and taste but the thought of food turned my stomach. After 2 weeks, I picked myself up by the bootstraps and said enough is enough. So I forced myself which is what I am trying to get him to do.
Sorry this is so long. God bless and have a great week. And look at it this way, WE NOW HAVE NATURAL IMMUNITY. Praise God.
