I've known about Arpanet but I didn't know Darpa started it. I'm old school, grew up with the Vic20 and C64 on a 300 baud modem dialing up bbs's. I came across this document after watching War Games (1983) and paused one of the missile displays to look at the text being shown.
I was digging into this topic about 2 weeks ago. Here are a bunch of facebook/lifelog/darpa related drops i was compiling while trying to gain a better understanding. In no particular order. - https://ibb.co/qpY7pXV
You know, it blows my mind so much comes out of this agency which we know so little about. Makes you wonder how much technology has been withheld. Reading that document their terminals were 2,400 baud input and 19,200 output. Those speeds didn't reach regular computers until 10+ years after this document in 1975.
Not to mention section 3b which talks about an interface message processor based on multiprocessor technology accommodating 18+ host computers.

Have you seen "Unacknowledged"? They're holding back a lot more than most have the mental capacity to understand.
