Because the search engine is now almost complete shit & useless. Should’ve guessed it was only a matter of time seeing as how they’ve always piggybacked off Google’s backbone.

There is only rumor about it being sold, I should have been clear on that but DDG was founded by a pretty shady character, Mr Weinburg (ring any bells?). DDG has always used Google’s backbone for their results, no secret there. DDG doesn’t care about your privacy whatsoever.

I’ve seen a massive shift in SR when looking for specific things, anything against official narrative and conspiracy types of things. In fact, so much so that I thought I accidentally switched my default SE back to Goolag.

Yeah I agree... anyone who thinks there is a 'safe' browser or search engine, is only a fool.
I simply want my search engine to give back accurate results. Ive been pleased with DDG so far and I havent noticed any fall off, but Ill for sure keep my radar on now, Thanks.
So, there's no source/link to back up this claim which makes it gossip or very likely shilling to get people off DDG. If OP's assertion is true, he needs to provide proof.
