It was a very interesting song kind of out of place for the energy of the rally. Anybody's thoughts on why this was played would be appreciated

Yes if you go back on the history of that song it is played during tribunal executions.
...the military is not known for it's choice of music at it's executions....
Couldn't find anything on the validity of that statement I did look up the history but I didn't find anything
...the only music you will hear at a military execution is the sound of a trap door dropping or carbines being readied and then fired with "vocal accompaniment" by a chaplain/priest reading the Last Rites....
