A prisoner's dilemma is a decision-making and game theory paradox illustrating that two rational individuals making decisions in their own self-interest cannot result in an optimal solution.
Just remember how we thought we had them boxed in with the Mueller Report. That was two years of waiting for a report that was supposed to be decisive. Either Collusion or No Collusion, the social contract for two years was that whatever Mueller concluded would be conclusive.
After two gruelling years of 24/7 media panic over “Russian Collusion”, the Mueller Report finally came out and the verdict was...
No Collusion.
And the social contract meant nothing. They blew right past it and tossed Mueller aside like he was nothing.
They went straight to Ukraine Impeachment. That was another year of media panic waiting for the verdict of Impeachment: Yay or Nay, to either convict Trump or clear his name. We did the whole dance all over again. And finally, finally the verdict came in...
The Nays have it! No Impeachment.
Finally - the vindication of President Trump the world was yearning for could finally start and then...
Breaking News! A strange new virus - what experts refer to as a “coronavirus” - called Covid-19 has made its first appearance, in a wet market in Wuhan.
Now it’s been two more years and we feel like the Covid narrative is about to break and that vindication is coming. But can they not pivot again? What stops them?
That’s what game theory is all about. Figuring out exactly what they CAN do. Your right, another pivot may very well be coming, so what could they possibly turn into a bigger panic/distraction than the Kung Flu d’etat?? Only so many options left...we’re getting there but yea, I don’t think they’re done yet by any means
Do you have any good resources to read up on game theory?
Look up The Prisoner's Dilemma.

I first came to understand game theory after reading The Aggression chapter in the Selfish Gene. It is a breakdown of Evolutionary Game Theory. Can be summarized here: https://science.umd.edu/classroom/zool360/L18-ESS/ess.html
Thanks!

Great analogy

As their options dwindle their actions will become more overt. This will work against them.
Precisely, bigger the play, bigger chance of fuckups. Their magik only works when it’s slow and subtle
