It is also pronounced Hi-coo. At least according to my college English professor.

Haiku (はいく)(俳句)has three syllables - ha + i + ku , and the final syllable is NOT pronounced kyu (Q).
In japanese, that sound is written きゅ (short) or きゅう (longer oo sound)
