11.3.2 Duration of GC Obligations in the Case of Occupied Territory. In the home territory of parties to the conflict, the application of the GC shall cease on the general close of military operations.

In the case of occupied territory, the application of the GC shall cease one year after the general close of military operations;

So, when did military operations begin, and when did they close? Hmmmm?

What I find really... curious ... is how some are attempting to twist (in my view) and interpret the GC applications to war (how we treat each others people in territory we hold, or how we treat people in territory we occupy) as to somehow defining what warring forces can or cannot do in terms of regaining what is stolen.

The above is saying simply that, after war has finished, the GC will no longer apply after one year. AFTER THE WAR HAS FINISHED. If CCP or Cabal still 'occupies' DC or such, then HOW has the war finished????

In other words, the one year rule only applies AFTER the whole frickin war is over. While the belligerent force "occupies", the one year rule means nothing. Not applicable.

I'm wondering how people can buy into this stuff. It's illogical.
