I think you're missing the point. The author not criticizing the person's selection (steak and shrimp) - which I agree is healthier than pizza, although there's an argument to be made about shrimp, the trashcans of the ocean.
He's pointing out how unfair it is that many of those without EBT could not feed themselves or their families that well. Ground beef is more popular than steaks with the middle class.
Ok I thought about your response, and it made me realize something. I think the author WAS criticizing a very specific segment of EBT users. Those for whom it's basically a free 'stimulus' check. I used to cashier when I was younger, and most EBT users did not have the vibe he's describing. But there were a few that did. They're just like the people who claim SS disability while driving multiple cars, not working and basically living on our dime as parasites on society.
Shrimp are bottom dwellers who feed on parasites and skin that they pick off dead animals. Most come from places with no restrictions on traces of illegal contaminants, such as dioxins, PCBs, and other banned chemicals, or on pumping them full of hormones and antibiotics.
The Bible is also very explicit in Leviticus about not eating crustaceans (and GMO, while we're at it). While no reason is given in the Bible, modern science has caught up and we now are understanding why crabs, shrimp, pork, eel, predator birds etc. are not meant for human consumption.
I resent food stamps, but because I know it's a program fraught with abuse and waste. Aside from buying Del Taco and Krispy Kreme with food stamps, stores routinely sell a gallon of milk (cheese, cereal, etc.) at a higher price when the brand is in the WIC program, right next to the same non-wic item sold at market prices. And the fraud in the program is so in-your-face that being honest feels like punishment. It's the whole "getting a contractor's license should be easier than getting a welfare check" systemic injustice part that annoys me.

Do we have video tape of these specific people from the past telling us to get the vaxxx, or that we should be banished. It could be ever so fun to replay their feelings from even a few months ago.
I understand where you are coming from but one of the comments caught my eye that makes reference to a book that discusses the point that forgiveness and reconciliation are not the same thing. That "forgiveness is unilateral, whereas reconciliation is bilateral."
The commentary goes on to say this:
"I choose to forgive someone whether or not they apologize because God has forgiven me. If I don’t forgive, I am only hurting myself. Reconcilation on the other hand requires that the offending party “own” their behavior. Reconciliation is not always possible, but with God’s help forgiveness can be possible.
To this day, I have never reconciled with the person who abused me (as he still has not taken any ownership of his actions), but I have forgiven him.
Right now with our country in turmoil, we as citizens are clearly being abused. Many of us are furious. We hate the evil that is going on. Since God hates evil too and since we are made in His image, we are also to hate evil. Although we would all love for our government abusers to wake up and stop their abuse, it is not likely that it will happen any time soon. Therefore reconciliation is not possible; however, I believe with God’s help, we can still forgive, even while we hate the abuse. And, with each new abuse, we will need to ask God to help us forgive, again and again. Otherwise, the unforgiveness may wind up destroying us."
Great article. Screw these leftists. Too late now to ask forgiveness, I ain't got any in me. Forgiveness is God's business, not mine.

During Reagan's time, they were called "welfare queens." It referred to gross abusers of the welfare system, including food stamps.
Sea bugs.
They look like insects to me.
And by the way, I've heard of people with immense wealth using food stamps.
I don't know how they can stand themselves.
