It depends entirely on the quality of the public school that is available to a said family.
My sister's four kids went through an excellent public school.
Out of curiosity, I asked the a few question and it seems they got a deep and meaningful civics foundation, and somehow learned to mistrust virtually all info on cable/network news and social media... somehow they came out of public school in the 2010-20017 range without being any more brain washed than I was in 1986. I was very surprised.
This is simply not true. As Q asked us, we should try to be logical. Not every child should be homeschooled… every parent should make this decision for each of their children on an individual basis based on the facts of their current situation.
The government institutions must come down. If the bridge is all homeschool, so be it. But yes not everyone is capable, which is why co-ops and micros hooks and other inventive, ingenious solutions pop up. You're creating a straw man and it's not helpful.
The slippery slope began when schools decided children have rights, that the individual’s rights superseded the rights of the others in the classroom and the teacher’s rights to maintain control. Children learned this quickly and now there is chaos in many classrooms.
Considering that the government institutions were created by Humanists (look that junk up) with the clearly stated purpose of replacing family and church with state and government, to prepare workers for the "inevitable" consolidation with communism, the only logical conclusion for thinking parents is to get and keep their kids out of this system.
Playing roulette and hoping that a school with good reviews will stay that way throughout your kids' careers there is risking your kids' souls. It only takes one groomer, one explicit book, one bully, one weird teacher, to mark a child for life.
Homeschool, de-program, and if you can't do it long run, get creative. You can team up, create smaller schools, organize co-ops, do the incentive American thing.
Sacrifice everything for the children. They are the future or lack there of.
Hear HEAR ye narcissistic generation of vipers....

...there are exceptions to every rule...
...our schools here in Mayberry have been maintained as normal as possible during this charade...
...and the curriculum produces many outstanding scholars....

...if I may be perfectly blunt...
...I would rather my child be a barely literate free thinker...
...than a brainwashed sycophantic byproduct of the educational system in this country....
If I had kids there's no way I'd subject them to the insane asylum our public schools have become.

Exactly...
...I wonder how many of these "pro education camp" comments are being uttered by a member of the "educational civil servant union class"....

...the "schools" that seem outwardly satisfactory, is merely doing a better job of masking what it's intentions are...
...compelling observations, very nicely stated....
