Can someone point to where the U.S. Constitution is contributing to the problems being faced in the United States? Or is it the lack of adherence to the Constitution?
14th Amendment -- defines each of us as a citizen under the government, when we are actually, and more powerfully, one of "the people" of the Preamble who created the government.
16th Amendment -- income tax
17th Amendment -- popular election of Senators
Many of the Amendments after the 10th need to be removed....but NOT by a COS.
If people succeed in getting a convention of states, can anyone guarantee 100% that the people in charge of running it can be controlled? Who can GUARANTEE they will be prevented from going off and adding ammendments that have nothing to do with the reason the convention was called in the first place? Who can stop them from going rogue and fucking the Constitution, the country, and every single one of us like what happened on January 6, 2021 when the most fraudulent election in the history of mankind was certified? Can anyone in this country GUARANTEE that nothing bad or unexpected would happen?
No. Nobody can guarantee anything, because a convention of states like this has never happened before. All previous ammendments to the Constitution have been passed using other options. Nobody has any idea whatsoever how a convention would play out or what kind of evil and corruption could make its way in to boomerang the entire process. People calling for a convention are playing with fire....no, they're playing with something much worse than fire. Think of how a bunch of evil fucks played thousands of patriots on January 6, and what is happening to those patriots, and the rest of the country, today. What's to stop them from playing all the patriots at a convention in exactly the same way? What if a convention ended up accomplishing exactly the opposite of what everybody who called for it intended? Is that a chance worth taking?
The Constitution is a sacred document, consecrated by God. If we allow it to be changed to mean something different, will it still be a sacred document?
I complete agree. A "Con Con" is a for real Pandoras box. Once opened who knows what hell is inside.
Exactly!
This is the danger in a COS...
Will absolutely end with a flexing of the 2nd.
You’ve identified great issues.
Do you trust State Legislatures to tackle these issues? Look at the Republican controlled Legislatures in the key battleground states, what have they collectively done about the 2020 election fraud ? Nothing.
How many of them acted like their hands were tied and they had to certify the fraudulent election results because of a date on a calendar? How many continue to claim it’s too late, nothing can be done?
These people cannot be trusted with opening up the constitution.
I don't trust them any more than you. The safeguards would have to be rock solid. E.g., I would make it illegal to accept any position in government for say, 7 years.
My understanding of a convention is that representatives are to be chosen by the people for that one task, and would only be compensated to a limited extent. They would not become career politicians.
Ideally only patriots would serve as in the original convention, and they would be anxious to get back home to pick up their real business. Of course, some way will have to be found to prevent the normal bribery that we know so well.
exactly. as much as I support unified state initiatives, this proposal only feeds the beast.
until we correct monetary policy (how money is created) no amount of "imposing fiscal restraints on federal government" will change outcomes. that means 'ending the Fed' -- or as Q said "structure." drop 1194
we fail to stop Federal overreach today. is it because we lack a specific amendment?? the entire Constitution limits Federal power and jurisdiction.
the 'deep state' operates mostly through unelected bureaucrats. elected puppets are a dime a dozen. Term Limits for 'officials and members of Congress' fails to address the root of the problem.
it's the PARTIES.
the Constitution makes no mention of political parties -- the Founders assumed an absence of political parties in electing a President. in George Washington's Farewell Address, he warned that parties were likely "to become potent engines by which . . . unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government."
the people have no say in selecting which candidates will be on the ballot. "ballot access" is completely controlled by Parties. it's not in the Constitution.
^^THIS^^
So much fucking this
This convention of states will/would be used against the people in order to strip any and all constitutional rights from the people. George Soros has funded think-tanks on rewriting the constitution and has long since advocated for a convention of states in order to do so.
To anyone thinking this is a good idea I'd like to remind you that these changes would be made by the same great minds that made such amazing things like the patriot act
The Constitution is not being obeyed as it is and hasn't been for many years--at all levels of government. A COS is not going to change that. It's also very dangerous to have a COS because most Americans are dangerously ignorant of our founding documents. Get some subversives in the mix and we could lose it all, right there.
NO , NOT WITH THIS CLOWN SHOW GOING ON.
YAY!! LET'S DO THIS!
Do not confuse a Convention of States (good) with a Constitutional Convention (bad)....research them both before being negative...
Conventionofstates.com Has been going fo a while now, Fyi
Yes. Figured it was somewhat relevant to throw out a reminder, being that NE passed the resolution today.
Interdasting
Bring it on! WE WANT A BIG WIN WITH THIS. THROW PELOSI FOR A LOOP because the Convention of States will override everything she tries to do. Amen
I should have read through comments earlier since this will likely be buried now, but this is why I put it out there. This seems good in a way at the surface but I am indeed skeptical that it will do anything to help us, more so likely to harm us. Thanks for the thoughts frens.
How many states are needed?
It takes two thirds of the states to call the convention and three fourths to ratify any amendments that are proposed. Small states have equal representation and power as large states.
Great news. We need to hold this convention and rip out the Amendments used to keep us in shackles.
Last time there was a convention they illegally tossed out the Articles of Confederation and saddled us with a powerful central government. I have no faith this Convention will turn out any better for liberty. Are we better educated than in 1787? Do we love liberty more than in 1787? By my estimate half of American Citizens are communists who wish to abolish the remaining restrictions the Constitution imposes, and the powers that be side with them, and do not often lose.
I'll grant, you have a legitimate worry until (if?) the Q plan runs to completion. I would be happy with simply overturning the Amendments I mentioned.
Holy shit... The halfway point is usually the snowball point... The Commiecrats can do fuck all to stop this.
