I think Americans have misjudged Canadians as being “too nice”, and that’s sometimes led to mischaracterizing them as complacent. And I think some Canadians have felt Americans are “not so nice” and have mischaracterized them as aggressive, mean or rude. Canadians see the worst of America because they watch American media. You wouldn’t be surprised to hear that most Canadians I met during the 2020 elections cycle despised Trump. If they found out I was American, they would immediately talk about Trump and just assume I also thought he was horrible. I stopped mentioning being American. I used to try to convince my Canadian friends to forget about Trump and pay attention to what was going on in their own politics. Now I think that was part of the psyop in Canada - keep the people focused on the Americans; they chose that terrible “orange man bad” and he’s ruining everything. All is well in Canada - our guy has great hair and wears cool socks! Well, when Trump didn’t get reelected, Canadians turned around and discovered things were not so great at home after all. And those “complacent” Canadians showed their true colours when they got pushed too far - they’re tough as nails and every bit the freedom loving patriots American patriots are! WWG1WGA 🇺🇸❤️🇨🇦
I can agree on the Trump thing. I have always been a fan of Trump and for his love of nation. I spoke highly of him when all I would get were discerning looks. Maybe it was made to prepare me for the same discerning looks being given now that I'm still not vaccinated. Lol.
Being supportive of Trump made me a critical thinker in the fact I made my own reasons for why I supported him no matter how the media and others wanted to portray him. While other Canadians were spending their spare time hating on Trump I've done mine researching trying to spread the truth and boy was it ever looking hopeless a year ago for my fellow Canadians. They could not comprehend what our own government was planning on doing to us and our Country. Maybe people started having time theirself to research Trump was out of the spotlight so the started waking up too.
I have a new found respect for my fellow Canadians after watching Canadians coming together, helping and supporting one another and all wanting a better world for out children. Watching us rise to this occasion made me finally proud to be a Canadian.
I also agree the US and Canada were misrepresented to eachother and I have many American friends now and you guys are awesome. Just love you all so much. Things will be different between our Countries going here on forward and its something I know many of us look forward to.
Sorry for the novel but thanks for sharing your words today and here's to 2022 the year we started taking back what is rightfully ours given to us by God. May we all stay strong and safe through the coming days ahead. God bless🙏
