I have crossbows too. They are legal for hunting in Michigan. Many archery deer hunters, and there are at least a couple hundred thousand of us here, have gone from compound bows (which Im sure we all still own) to crossbows. Crossbows are lethal and accurate with much more range than compound bows. They come with red dot sights similar to those used on ARs and other long rifles, but formatted for the weapon system.
Dude, if I had the arm strength (nerve damage in my right arm) I’d totally get skills with a bow. Alas, my damaged arm won’t allow it ):
You need no arm strength for a crossbow. They were first made legal here for the handicapped for just that reason. Not only that, at least in Michigan, there is no background check, no names taken if you pay cash. And they are silent killers that dont give away your position. Thier biggest drawback is that they are slower to reload and fire again.
Let’s just say even holding up something heavy isn’t easy.. lol If I was a dude (kek) it would be different, but as a grown female the size of a 13/14 year old kid, I lack the proper muscles to do such things without hurting myself. I’ve had this arm damage for a while, I know my limits (:
You are exactly the reason this weapon was first made legal here.
You sound like an Awesome spotter!
Sounds like someone could make a fortune by inventing an "automatic crossbow" :) or at least a semi-automatic, to be legal :)
Introducing Joerg Sprave and his “Fenris” https://youtu.be/BF_OuEba3a4 Home made wooden version, his “Sliding Instant Legolas”: https://youtu.be/xH2uVMJTt2s They work SO well. A decent carpenter/ woodworker is able to build one.
They have auto reloaders up to 18 arrows. Pretty cool videos on YT but to bulky for me. Stealth reasons.
