We moved to our current county 2-1/2 years ago. In the last 6 months my husband has gotten involved in county political groups and he’s even running for Precinct Chair. It’s a small step, but he’s digging in!
And in case you didn’t know, precinct chairs have more power than you think, and is one of the most often overlooked positions in politics. Very little time commitment (one meeting per month), yet can select people to fill vacant office positions in both state and national legislatures.
It’s the easiest way to enter the political arena and MANY precinct chair positions go unfilled.
Ran for City Council in my hometown more than 20 years ago. Lost, not badly. Got appointed to several committees. Made a difference. Still at it. Good luck!
2016 Justice Democrats targeted all the unopposed open seats, created a central campaign support hub, and auditioned people for the roles of candidates. they placed AOC and the tribe of script-reading malcontents. who here thinks they can't be beat? what seats in your state are nearly unopposed?
I won't run,but people who do will get my financial support. We need some kind of national committee, that establishes local committee's to vet a candidate before we back him.
For what it's worth, I've said before that I am no friend of Clinton, and I'd put down money that I spent more time arguing against her than anyone here during the 2016 election. You've seen how wordy my posts are.
I don't like Clinton or Biden or anyone from that area of the Democratic party. I voted for it in preference to the direction that Trump wanted to go, but that's largely because Trump is much less sensitive to public opinion than people like Biden and Clinton, which makes him much more dangerous, in my opinion.
Trump won't fold to public outrage, he won't apologize, he won't tiptoe. He's completely uncontrollable, by either you or me. He didn't consider his power threatened by public opinion.
Clinton? Biden? They HAVE to put on a show. It's necessary. If they fail, they get thrown to the wolves. So they're controllable. They might have a propaganda machine and be doing shady shit behind the scenes, but their survival is far more tied to public response than Trump's ever was. They can be threatened, and true exposure destroys them. One wrong word can end their entire career.
That makes them far more preferable to me, because their power is far more limited than Trump's was. You call it "fantasy", but it is what it is. They have to play the game, and that means they're under a leash. That leash makes it much easier for me to get the things that I want from them than I ever could from Trump, because Trump couldn't care less how people reacted to him and accepted . I can't work with that kind of person in power.
My local areas doesn't really shift much politically, but I keep an eye on it. I am sometimes of political involvement outside of voting, but generally only when I'm able to work against the Democratic establishment. Which, at the very least, is something we both want, even though I'm sure we'll be at each other's throats again once they're subdued. :)

If AOC can do it you can do it.....

Perhaps a national consensus of what we want backed or removed.
Thank you, friend.

If you don't have a large sum of money to donate to their campaign, you are the one on the leash.
They are above the law, you arent.
