I personally know several Afghanis that relocated to the US. They have all been very nice and upstanding citizens in their communities. Many are business owners and work hard. Many did help our military and would be dead meat if they had remained behind. That is just the sad truth. I cannot fault them for that. There are however, elements within the group that should not be here. Those are the ones I worry about.
I agree. I also worked with many "terps" (interpreters) as we called them in Afghanistan and Iraq between 2003-2005. Many were outstanding people that just wanted to live free as we do, but we also had a few that tried to kill my fellow Marines in their sleep. Simply saying "I love America" is not enough to prove your loyalty to the United States. As with anyone else coming to this country, proper vetting is necessary.
I agree. Vetting is difficult. The Afghanis I knew were great people. But I also know that is not all of them. I think their prior interactions with US forces is critical. The ones I knew had been interpreters and had good relations.
HHS, How about you use all the FEMA camps built for the Afghan “refugees” and the illegals? You spent taxpayer dollars building them, so use them for housing rather than hotels while you THOROUGHLY vet them. I don’t care if it takes years to vet.vvNo papers, no documents, back they go.
How many were guys who helped our military over there? I would not have a problem with that ....
